Half of me

I walk alone through empty streets,

My shadow bleeds, it never sleeps.

A mask I wear, a lie I live,

They take and take, I’ve none to give.

I used to dream in shades of white,

Now red is all I see at night.

Can you still love the ghost I am?

A monster born from who I ran...

Half of me is crying,

The other half's surviving.

Torn between the hunger and the pain.

I’m not who I remember,

A cold and dying ember,

Fading in this never-ending rain.

Can you still hold me

When I’ve gone insane?

I feel the cage inside my chest,

The human part that won’t find rest.

These hands have done what I regret,

But still, I can’t forget... I can’t forget.

What is right, what is real?

Tell me how should I feel?

When every breath is borrowed time,

And every step’s a broken line.

Half of me is bleeding,

The other half’s still needing

A reason not to fade into the dark.
