The best thing in life is that second of peace of mind.
My dream came true — I dreamed of you,
Finally enjoying peace of mind.
Something you live for, something so hard to find.
Finally with you in the afterlife,
So I’ll see you later, but never say goodbye.
Every time I drink, my brain cells shrink.
I’ve had a gun pointed at my head —
By a gangster and a cop;
It makes no difference, they’re both out to take over the world.
All of my childhood friends are gone, passed away,
And the one who had to stay lives every day
Complicated, trying to guess what’s right or wrong.
Trying to feel when somebody passes away,
But I don’t.
Am I the one left behind to have the best parts of life,
Or am I the one left behind to feel all the pain they’ve escaped?
Rest in peace to those who are done.
They’re lucky — they get to experience what rest is,
They get to experience what peace is.
Maybe life is hell — oh well.
You can’t live without doing something,
No matter when or where.
You’ve got to work to stay alive,
You’ve got to take someone’s place to get that job they’ve held so long.
Evil is what makes us strong.
You can’t have a heart if you want to be smart.
You can’t have a tear and still face your fear —
Not forever — or you’ll be suffering,
Realizing you’re not alone.
Many experience this.
Some keep it inside, they try not to show it.
But if they had the chance, if they won the prize,
They’d act just like the ones who take everything from you,
With a sigh or a tear in their eye.
Rest in peace to all of my childhood friends.
All I can say is it’s not as great as if you had stayed.
Everything is meant to be — you can’t stop it.
It’s already written.
The story is read, and you are the part of it that’s dead.
I hope you’re enjoying the new place you moved into.
You were innocent — so for sure it’s heaven for you.
