I left that night, your voice stuck in my head

A question burning, an answer left unsaid

Didn’t know why, didn’t know how

Went back to check I wasn’t confused

One look at you—felt a feeling I haven’t used

I had to see you, wasn’t sure you felt it too

You said “too busy,” thought my senses broke in two

Then you reached out, said you’d make the time.

Nerves hit hard—even though I’d done this a hundred times.

But being near you, felt like home I’d never known

Saying bye felt wrong. But knowing their would be a next time felt right

Second night came, gravity pulled stronger still

Fought the urge to reach, to take your hand at will

Time flew faster, clock a jealous thief.

Parting came, that hug was awkward relief
