I was nine years old when I took my first ride didn't know how it would end laying on my back in the mud or the dust or my hair blowing in the wind
we cantered through life's ups and downs together we were quite the team the poles always made me dizzy and the barrels always made me scream
life is perfect when I have the reins all my worries seem to fade away pain and fear are just words to me and tomorrow is a brand new day
you see riding that horse was a lesson I didn't know I had to learn the ups and the downs and the backs and the forth were never my concern
I see life in a different light ever since I've climbed aboard I don't waste time on wanting what I can't afford I take each day with a grain of salt I look the world in the eye the lessons mean the world to me won't forget them till I die
life is perfect when I have the reins all my worries seem to fade away pain and fear are just words to me and tomorrow is a brand new day
