Storm of Shadows

In the storm before the calm,

Where shadows stretch and whispers drown,

A fragile heart in a violent world,

I stood my ground, but the thunder swirled.

Lightning struck the silent night,

Every word a sharp-edged fight,

A look, a breath, my heart on fire,

In the flash of anger, I felt the pyre.

I wore the scars of her raging storm,

In a cage of guilt, far from warm,

Her cries like sirens, they pierced the air,

I was lost, trapped in despair.

Thunder rolls when the darkness calls,

Flame in her eyes like meteors fall,

I fought the battle, feeling so small,

In her storm, just lost it all.

Each night a flare, her pain and plight,

"I’ll end it all," the words ignite,

Taken hostage by her cries,

Underneath, my spirit dies.

But in the chaos, I found my fight,

No more shadows lurking at night,

I learned to rise, to break the chains,

To find myself in the torrential rains.
