im not surprised

ive done a lot

to just get by

about the end

than all my actions

id later defend

ive had my sights

set on the past

while so many others

saw me finish last

i thank them tho

for their concern

theyve worried much

as I have burned

perhaps they wanted

just my best

i let them down

i wont protest

perhaps their worries

were all well placed

and my whole life

would be disgrace

if in the end

it should be true

then apologies

to all of you

but understand

where my heads at

i see your goals

and all of that

i hear your words

they burn my ears

but none of them

make up my fears

i am different

it might offend

but I'll be me

till I meet my end

and expecting other

than that fact

reveals some faith

that you lack

so I'll persist

keep on my path

and you can taunt

and point and laugh

but while you do it

you should question

my end game

that I wont mention
