No one even assumes

It's evident in knowing me

So don't get all confused

Looked into a thousand guys.

But never seemed to find

Or another of my kind

I guess I should expect it

I've done my share of dirt

But loving you came so easy

Never figured it would hurt

Some things you don't consider

At the moment of inception

We're blinded by our feelings

Things look good in our perception

And for a time

Not long enough

We bathe in love

And all it's warmth

What fools we are

We believe such pretty lies

Why can't we just once

See thru loves old disguise

But I am a fool

And cannot pretend

That I don't love you

Or wouldn't defend

Being yours but not in your arms

It tears a little every day

I have to wonder all the time

Can I keep going on this way.
