“Still Becoming”
Verse 1
I was the girl who always got her way,
Never thought tomorrow looked much different than today.
The world was only as big as what I’d seen,
Never questioned what forever really means.
I thought growing up was just another year,
Didn’t know that life would pull me somewhere far from here.
One goodbye can open up a thousand roads,
Turns out leaving home can lighten heavy loads.
Pre-Chorus
Every mile changed something in me.
Every town gave me another piece.
The girl who packed her bags that day…
Isn’t the one who’s singing now.
Chorus
I’m still becoming…
Still learning who I am.
Still finding pieces of my heart
Hidden in places I never planned.
Every wrong turn led somewhere right.
Every sunrise changed my mind.
I thought I was running away…
But maybe…
I was running toward my life.
Verse 2
Different houses. Different faces.
Different stories. Different places.
Some people taught me what love looks like.
Some people taught me what it doesn’t.
Some days broke me down so quietly,
I almost forgot the sound of my own voice.
Other days reminded me…
There’s still so much beauty left to find.
I learned that everybody carries something.
A dream.
A scar.
A reason they became who they are.
And suddenly…
The world felt bigger than I’d ever imagined.
Bridge
Someone looked at me…
And somehow saw parts of me
I hadn’t found yet.
Like she’d known them all along.
She reminded me where my roots began.
Not so I’d stay there…
But so I’d understand
Why I’ve always reached for more.
Maybe knowing where you come from
Makes it easier
To decide where you’re going.
Final Chorus
I’m still becoming…
Still growing into my own skin.
Still finding strength inside the girl
Who’s been here all along within.
I’ve learned that life won’t stay the same.
People change.
Dreams change.
Hearts change.
And that’s the beautiful part.
Because if nothing ever changed…
Neither would I.
So I’ll keep taking roads I’ve never seen.
Keep meeting souls I’ve never known.
Keep chasing the life
That somehow…
Has been chasing me too.
Outro
I don’t want to know everything.
I don’t think anyone ever will.
I just hope…
That years from now…
I can look back at this version of me…
Smile…
And realize
She was only the beginning.
