[Verse]
Out in the fields of Amarillo, just a simple Texas dawn,
Sweat on my brow, workin' hard, keepin' my old John Deere on.
Then a light from the sky, brighter than the Texas sun,
Aliens landed in my backyard, and that's when the trouble begun.
[Verse 2]
I got my boots and my Stetson hat, ready to confront the scene,
Saw little green men with big ol' eyes, the craziest sight I've seen.
They had their probes and shiny tools, but what I couldn't believe,
They were drawin' a line to my loyal dog, ol' Max under the pecan tree.
[Chorus]
Aliens tryin' to abduct my hound, in the middle of the Lone Star State,
They can take my crops, my whiskey jug, but ol' Max ain't on their plate.
I'll fight with all I've got, by the light of that Texas moon,
'Cause there's no way I'm losin' my pup to some dang spacecraft platoon.
[Verse 3]
Ran for my shotgun, keepin' steady, heart beatin' fast and wild,
Max wagged his tail, oblivious, like an innocent child.
I hollered, "Y'all ain't takin' him, no ma'am, no sir, no way!"
The leader stared then frowned and said in a language I couldn't say.
[Verse 4]
With a flash and a fizz, they hopped back in their disc,
Max barked at the lights as they lifted, landing ain't worth the risk.
Now I sit and wonder 'bout the stars, drinkin' a cold Lone Star beer,
Protectin' my dog, proud like a Texan, from the strangeness around here.
