Miles behind, dreams in my mind

Roads are long but I got my time

King of the highway, tired and worn

Six strings in my heart, dreams torn

College degree, thought I’d find a way

But the paycheck's thin, and I fade away

Every tune I’ve written’s left behind

Echoes of a voice I can't unwind

Won't give up, I still believe

One day my songs will set me free

Burned out engine, chasing the sun

Wheeling my dreams while the miles run

Got a pen, got a song, got a fire

Waiting for my break, to lift me higher

From city streets to dusty roads

Writing my story, carrying my load

College days don’t pay the rent

But these melodies are where I went
