Though I am married to the sea, I am tied to it
In radiance
In trying for poetic redemption
Breaking the rules that hold us like chains
/the great seven/
Break the waves through every contraction
Of authority,
there will be
And only ever
has there been; the great seas
And I am married to her, her call of sirens
flocking to me
Soaring, swooping and singing
/like angels once did with their trumpets/
Beginning with a melody, and ending with
Our rapid hearts beating
Once last time
in the sea
And am I really tied to thee,
Like a ghostly ship; floating
/aimlessly/
With no dock strong enough to hold it,
Or take it in
Though I am married to the sea, I’ve held this old locket
From old pasts,
Bound, and ever-rusting
Memories
To the bottom
With it,
I am going
To find that one locker
And finally hold her
The life bringer, the taker,
The maker,
The ocean inside her
/O’/
/creator/
