I've Got A Testimony

You don't know where I was three years ago — you can't even imagine

The mess I was making out of my life — the trouble I was dragging

I was down so low I couldn't see the surface from where I was standing

I had given up on God before God gave up on understanding

That I was still worth saving — still worth the reach — still worth the fight

He sent people to speak into my life — sent His Word alive at night

He worked on me in ways I still can't fully explain

And one day I looked up and realized — I wasn't the same

I've got a testimony — they overcame by the blood and the word of their testimony

I've got a testimony — what the enemy meant to destroy became my victory

Somebody needs to hear what God can do — somebody needs to know the story's not through

I've got a testimony — and I'm not keeping it quiet anymore

I've got a testimony — I've got a testimony — I overcame

They said I wouldn't make it — said the damage was done

Said there's no coming back from that — you'd better run

But God had a different ending written long before the beginning

And what they called my funeral, God called the start of the winning

I am standing on this platform with a scar and not a grave

I am living proof that grace can save what people called unsaveable

And I don't share my story for applause or for attention

I share it because somebody out there needs to know — you are not the exception

The enemy wanted silence — he wanted shame to lock your lips

But the blood of Jesus broke those chains — His grace equipped

You to speak what He brought you through — to let your scar be someone's door

To say "If God did it for me, honey, He'll do it for you" — and mean it to the core

They overcame — they overcame — not by their perfection

They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their confession

So open up your mouth — tell what God has done

Your testimony is a weapon — and the battle's already won

Somebody in this room — somebody watching — somebody reading this today

Needs to know that God is still in the business of making a way
