MY ROCK - Inspired by Psalm 18

I called Your name when the walls closed in,

When I was surrounded by the weight of my sin.

Death had a rope and it pulled me tight,

But I cried to Heaven in the dead of night.

From Your holy place, You heard my voice,

Thunder rolled and the mountains shook.

Hell thought it had me, thought I was done—

Then You came down like a loaded gun.

You reached from Heaven,

You pulled me from the flood.

When I didn’t have the strength to stand,

You held me up.

You’re my Rock,

You’re my Fortress,

You’re the God who fights for me.

You’re my Shield,

My Salvation,

You’re the strength my enemies see.

When the darkness comes like thunder,

When all hell’s breaking loose—

I ain’t standing on my own strength,

I’m standing on You.

My Rock.

My Deliverer.

My God.

You lit my lamp when the night went black,

Gave me the strength to keep fighting back.

With You beside me, I’ll charge that line,

I’ll scale any wall that stands in my life.

Your way is perfect, Your Word is tried,

You’re a shield to every man who runs to Your side.

There’s no God but the Lord above,

No Rock but the One who came down for us.

You made my feet steady,

You taught my hands to fight.

You put Your strength down inside these bones,

And You led me through the night.

You’re my Rock,

You’re my Fortress,

You’re the God who fights for me.

You’re my Shield,

My Salvation,

You’re the strength my enemies see.

When the darkness comes like thunder,

When all hell’s breaking loose—

I ain’t standing on my own strength,

I’m standing on You.

My Rock.

My Deliverer.

My God.

Who is God—

BUT THE LORD?

Who is the Rock—

BUT OUR GOD?

You armed me with strength!

You made my way straight!

You lifted my head!

You shattered my chains!

The Lord lives!

Blessed be my Rock!

The Lord lives!

Blessed be my Rock!

Let the God of my salvation—

BE EXALTED!

YOU’RE MY ROCK!

You’re my Fortress!

You’re the God who fights for me!

You’re my Shield!

My Salvation!

You’re the strength my enemies see!

Let the mountains shake like thunder,

Let the whole world hear the truth—

I ain’t standing on my own strength,

I’m standing on You!

When the waters rise—

You’re my Rock.

When the darkness falls—

You’re my Rock.

When the enemy comes—

You’re my Rock.

You’re my Rock.

My Fortress.
