Growing Happy

I wake up to the morning light, my brand new day begins

I count the blessings given to me, and where Your grace steps in

I hear the birds with their sweet song in the sky of softest blue

And everything around me sings a song of praise to You

Oh, there is happiness in the Lord, a joy that overflows

A calming peace within my soul that only Heaven knows

Like singing a song that's filled with praise

Or sitting with my fishin pole

These things and more are happiness to me

they satisfy my soul.

Like the joy that my family brings

Good friends, church folk and fond memories

Your sweet love makes my happy heart sing

Were growing in the Savior's love

Filled with joy from up above

Deeply rooted in the word

Makes our hearts awakened and stirred

Growing strong and bearing fruit

Receiving happiness from God's root.

Oh, there is happiness in the Lord, a joy that overflows

Quiet calmness all around

I look to the heavens and say

A prayer of thanks to our Father above

For yet another day

When the day is over and the world goes quiet

there's no greater feeling I've found then to get on my knees to the Maker of it all

and give thanks as the sun goes down
