Drifting Through the Static

In the crowd, yet alone, a million faces, none of them home

Searching for truth, but I only find walls,

Built out of shadows, cold, and small

Empty voices, echo through the night,

Words like wires, tangled, tight

Can you hear me from where you are?

Or is my signal lost, drifting far?

I wish you were here, like a whisper in the dark,

A flicker of warmth, a spark in the arc

Through the static, through the endless gray,

I’m calling out, but you’re worlds away

We built machines to talk through time,

But they took the soul, left reason blind

Plugged into something that drains us dry,

Eyes on the screen, hearts passing by

Remember the days when it all felt real,

When silence meant peace, and wounds could heal

Now there's only noise, and empty air,

Are you out there? Are you anywhere?

I wish you were here, in this hollow shell,

A voice in the dark, where echoes dwell

Through the static, through the hum of machines,

I’m reaching for you, caught in between

Can we break free from the circuits and lights?

Find each other on the other side

In a world so close yet drifting apart,

Searching for you, holding onto heart

I’m here waiting, I’m still alive,

In the hum of the wires, in the silent cries
