The Bricks Between Us

Each day, another layer builds,

Silent stones in bitter fields.

The weight I carry’s growing tall,

I wonder if you feel at all.

The faces blur, they’re staring back,

Judgment cold as bricks turn black.

They point, they whisper, they decide,

Who am I, who’s left inside?

Another brick between you and me,

A wall of silence we can't see.

Are you trapped in your own design?

In empty rooms, the shadows speak,

Of voices lost and futures bleak.

They say I’m free, but chains don’t break,

If freedom’s just the choice we fake.

I built my walls to guard the pain,

But now they keep me in a cage.
