The sixth of September

Let me just elaborate

The year was two thousand eight

I was just a man hellbent

You were about a month pregnant

I didn’t care I didn’t mind

So I asked you to be mine

Another day I might suggest

That beautiful day in August

The nineteenth two thousand seventeen

walked down the isle looking like a queen

Shining diamond in your white dress

finally saw you I was so impressed

I couldn’t believe I must say

The beauty I was marrying that day

After 10 years your my spouse

Spending time shopping for a house

Found a few we couldn’t stand

Then found one in Cumberland

Signed the papers and it was done

Moved in our home in twenty one

I’ll never forget that day

Seeing your face the thirteenth of may

It’s been 17 years since that day in September
