Father, hear my heart…

I don’t got all the answers,

But I know You’re here.

There were nights I couldn’t sleep,

Tears falling on my sheets.

Fighting battles in my mind,

Praying You wouldn’t leave.

Everybody saw a smile,

Nobody saw the pain.

I was calling out Your name,

Standing in the pouring rain.

When I felt too weak to move,

You carried all my weight.

When I thought my story ended,

You opened Heaven’s gate.

I was running out of hope,

Running out of strength.

But every time I called on You,

You met me where I stayed.

When my world was falling down,

You were holding me.

When my faith was barely breathing,

You were life in me.

I still got scars,

But they remind me what You do.

People came and people left,

But Jesus, I still had You.

I remember every prayer,

Every tear that hit the floor.

Every time I asked You,

“Lord, can I take one more?”

You never turned away,

Never closed the door.

Your mercy found me broken,

And loved me even more.

Now I lift my hands high,

Not because life’s easy.

I praise You ’cause You saved me,

When nobody could reach me.

Through the valley and the fire,

Through every storm I knew,

You kept Your hand upon me,

And Your promises stayed true.

When my world was falling down,

You were holding me.

When my faith was barely breathing,

You were life in me.

I still got scars,

But they remind me what You do.

People came and people left,

But Jesus, I still had You.

You were there in the hospital.

You were there in the struggle.

You were there when my pockets were empty.

You were there through the trouble.

You were there when my heart broke.

You were there when I cried.

You were there when nobody answered.

You were standing by my side.

When my faith was barely breathing,

You were life in me.

I still got scars,

But they remind me what You do.

The world may change tomorrow,

But Jesus, I still have You.

If I got You, I got enough.

If I got You, I got hope.

If I got You, I got peace.
