Bottle on the table, demons in my mind,

Every sip felt like peace but it’s poison in disguise.

Saw my fam hurt, tears in they eyes,

Generations lost tryin’ to drown they cries.

I was stuck in a loop, same hurt, same fight,

Numbin’ all my pain just to sleep at night.

But I smashed that glass, had to take my life back,

Put my faith in tomorrow, left the poison in the past.

No more drownin’, I’m breathin’ again,

Shattered that bottle, won’t let it win.

I found my power where the pain had been.
