Living Sacrifice

He told us we were guilty ,were all the same.

He told us we were justified, and freely, in His name.

He told us we were buried, raised to walk in newness of life.

Now nothing hangs on the work I bring,

He held back nothing, He gave it away.

He gave it all, He gave it free —

And now He asks the rest of me.

So when I look back through that doorway at all that He has done,

It's reasonable to me to present myself to God —

Holy and acceptable, through His Son.

Not conformed to this world — transformed, our minds made new.

We are members of His body, each with a part to play,

Whether teaching, encouraging, or wiping other tears away.

Be a living sacrifice unto God today.

We are dead to sin and alive in Christ,

Seated in the heavenly place.

Every blessing already ours,

Nothing left to earn, nothing left to chase.

The verdict came in long ago,

And the verdict does not change.

It's reasonable, as we are His body —

Be a living sacrifice.

Love without pretending, cleave to what is good,

Give preference to each one.

Rejoice in hope, patient in the trial,

Instant in prayer, and love.

Not death, not life, not things to come

Can separate us from the love of God in Christ.

It's our reasonable act of worship.
