Every morning I would rise and try to do it all in vain

Like I had to do the dying all over again

But the Word says it's already done, the old man's in the grave

The crosswork is finished, the debt has been paid

Paul said reckon it dead, not do it again

Believe what God declared, not strive against the wind

The old man's dead and buried, the crosswork has been done

I'm not fighting what was finished by God's begotten Son

I reckon myself dead to sin and alive in Christ today

The debt has all been paid, I'm standing in His grace

I used to wear my struggle like a badge upon my chest

Thought the harder that I fought it, Lord, the more that I was blessed

But Galatians two twenty says it plain as it can be

Christ in me the hope of glory, now and eternally
