Why Lord, Why

In the stillness of the prayer, I speak to the sky

Feeling lost, feeling broken, asking the why

Oh Lord, hear my plea, I’m calling your name

Through the fire and pain, I seek your flame

Sitting in this church, shadows of my past

A year of hell, memories that last

Praying for mercy, praying for grace

Trying to find my way, lost in this place

Every woman’s words cut deep, telling me I’m undone

A spirit shattered, a soul far gone

But I cling to faith, though the nights are long

Lord, I need your strength to stay strong

Why did you let me fall so low?

Why did you take everything I know?

In this trial, what am I meant to learn?

Oh Lord, I trust, I still yearn

I lay down in my tent, gaze at the dark sky

Waiting for answers, tears in my eye

You know my pain, you feel my hurt

Teach me in silence, through the dirt

So I ask again, with a humble heart

Guide me, Lord, give me a new start

Through the hurt, through the rain

I’ll trust in you and find my faith again
