Star of Charity

Mary and Joseph, a couple pure and true, In obedience they met the Advent they knew.

Their faith carried them through doubt and all fear, To Bethlehem, where comfort is near.

The birth of Jesus was as follows, says Matthew's clear voice, A sign for the poor, giving them cause to rejoice.

To believe is to dare to open your eyes, That God's wonders happen, beneath all the skies.

Let us see the elders with respect and high honor, Their life stories they carry upon their banner.

Let us lift up our children in light and in grace, And teach them of charity in this place.

For the Child who is coming, is the proof we can see, That God looks on all with His heart open free.

The parent’s compassion, a gift so grand, Reflects the peace that in Advent is planned.
