Title: The Devil Came Back to Georgia (Part II)
Intro (spoken, slow and steady):
You’d think the Devil would’ve learned, but evil don’t forget—
He lost once down in Georgia… now he’s got one more regret.
---
Verse 1:
The Devil came back to Georgia, with fire in his veins,
He swore he’d take back what he lost, erase his past with flames.
That golden fiddle haunted him, its shine a bitter sting,
So back he rode on smokin’ winds to face the fiddle king.
---
Chorus:
He don’t play for riches, don’t play for pride,
He plays with heaven burnin’ deep inside.
Lightning in his fingers, fire in his tone,
That Devil came to battle — but Johnny stood alone.
Oh he plays for glory, not for gold or fame,
And every note he bends still scorches Satan’s name!
---
Verse 2:
He found old Johnny sittin’ there beneath a maple tree,
With silver hair and steady hands, still playin’ wild and free.
He taught the youth to feel each note, to play from deep inside,
And when the Devil called him out, he smiled real wide with pride.
The Devil hissed, “Let’s play again, I’m better than before.”
Johnny sipped his tea and said, “Come knockin’ on my door,
But be prepared to lose again, ‘cause I don’t play for gold—
I play for truth, and heart, and soul… and stories to be told.”
[Screeching out of tune fiddle]
---
Verse 3:
The Devil raised his fiddle up, it burned a crimson red,
He played a tune so dark and fierce, the angels bowed their heads.
The sky turned black, the thunder rolled, the trees began to bend,
And evil danced on every note, like shadows in the wind.
[Devil's fiddle playing solo]
His bow flew fast, the sparks took flight, he knelt down with a scream—
He thought he'd crafted victory from every wicked dream.
But deep inside, he feared the light that Johnny still could bring,
For no dark tune can ever beat the song a soul can sing.
[Guitar riffs]
Verse 4:
Then Johnny stood, his fiddle rose, a hush fell on the land,
And as he drew the bow with grace, the light moved through his hand.
He played a song so pure and bright, it split the clouds above,
Each note was forged in mercy’s fire, and sealed in endless love.
[Johnny fiddle solo]
The devils shrieked, the demons ran, the shadows turned to dust,
For Johnny played with holy fire, and a faith so strong and just.
And when the final note rang out, he gave one solemn nod—
“The soul that plays with truth and love is walkin’ close with God.”
[Johnny fiddle playing solo]
Chorus (final push):
He don’t play for riches, don’t play for pride,
He plays with heaven burnin’ deep inside.
Lightning in his fingers, fire in his tone,
That Devil came to battle — but Johnny stood alone.
Oh he plays for glory, not for gold or fame,
