Prompt / Lyrics
Title: Low Light (Verse 1) I’m sitting in the dark again. The tv is on but the sound is off. I can hear the cars driving past outside. I can hear the heater clicking in the wall. I’ve been in this chair for three hours now. I don’t want to move and I don’t want to talk. My head feels heavy and my hands feel cold. I’m just waiting for the night to get old. (Verse 2) I saw you walking down by the tracks. You looked tired and you didn't look back. We both have that look on our faces today. Like we’re looking for a place where we can just stay. I don’t need a reason and I don’t need a sign. I just need a way to turn off my mind. The room is spinning in a slow, grey circle. Everything is quiet and everything is purple. (Chorus) Just make it go quiet. Just make it go still. If the drink doesn't do it, the silence will. I’m sinking down to the bottom of the floor. I don’t want to feel like this anymore. Keep it low. Keep it slow. Until I’ve got nowhere left to go. (Verse 3) The sun is going to come up in a little while. I’m going to have to get up and try to smile. But right now the shadows are covering the room. And it feels like I’m living inside of a tomb. No more phone calls, no more noise. I’m tired of the girls and I’m tired of the boys. Just give me the static, just give me the dark. Before the whole thing falls apart. (Outro) (Slow and repetitive) Turn the lights out. Turn the lights out. I’m finally starting to fade. I’m finally starting to fade.
