Echoes of Words

Words like shadows, dancing in the dark

Moving so fast, leaving a trace of doubt

He speaks with tender words, so sweet, so true

But in his silence, I don’t know what to do

Promises like whispers, slipping through my hands

Confusion clouds my mind, trying to understand

Should I believe the things he says?

Or Is there more behind the phrase?

Mystery woven in his stay

Leaving me lost in the haze

His words are louder than his actions

Building castles in my head

Filling me with unanswered questions

Should I stay, or should I tread?

His voice is like a song I hear

But his deeds are what I fear

Confused by all the words he’s spilling

Caught in the silence, parts unfulfilling

Maybe he’s lost, maybe he’s unsure

Hoping love is enough to endure

But I need more than spoken hopes

I need the truth, I need the scope

Words like echoes fading fast

Hoping his actions will last

Until then, I wait and see

What his true heart wants to be
