Walking through the shadows, blood on my heart

Trying to find my way, but I keep falling apart

Played again, another fake smile, another broken piece

Chasing after shadows, longing for some peace

Heart on a string, they pull and tear, never knowing the pain

Tried to be the perfect girl, but it’s all in vain

Lost in a maze of false fronts, hiding what’s real

Yearning for love, but all I feel is to conceal

Falling for the lies, always getting hurt in the same

Then I met a goofy boy with secrets in his eyes

He showed me it’s okay to live, to breathe, to just survive

Laughs at my tears, says “you’ll be fine”

A friend in shadows, he kindles my spark

Learned that it’s okay to not always aim for more
