You learned my weaknesses like a loaded gun,

Found every scar and called it where I’d come from.

You’d twist every word until I questioned my mind,

Then tell me I was crazy for believing my eyes.

I got good at silence, good at walking on glass,

Good at apologizing for things that never happened.

You’d tear me down, then pull me close,

And somehow I believed that was what love was supposed to be.

I stopped looking in the mirror,

’Cause I hated what I’d see—

A man who gave you everything

And nothing left for me.

But you couldn’t break me,

You only buried me deep.

Under all those lies you told,

There was still a man underneath.

You could steal my confidence,

You could make me doubt my name,

So I started finding pieces
