Prompt / Lyrics
In a jungle green and grand, Lived Anibal, an agouti who feared the land. At five years old, he was quite small, But his worries were big, not small at all. Each time he tried to go out to play, His heart would thump, his fears would stay. “What if I get hurt? What if I fall? What if I can’t find my way at all?” His parents, Alex and Angie, always would say, “Ani, it’s okay to feel this way. But the world is full of wonders, and one day you’ll see, Let’s go out and explore, just us three.” (Chorus) It’s okay to be scared, it’s okay to be shy, But give it a go, just give it a try! With a slow, steady step and a hand to hold, Even a quiet heart can be bold. Yes, Anibal the Agouti is learning to see, How brave a little agouti can be! One sunny day, with skies so blue, Angie said, “Let’s try something new. We’ll take it slow, just step by step, And you’ll see, there’s nothing to fret.” Anibal crept, slow and steady, With his loving parents, close and ready. Through the jungle green and bright, Everything seemed to be just right. But then there was a rustle in the trees, The boy was so scared, that it made Anibal freeze. “What if it’s a monster, big and mean? Or something more scary, or something unseen?” Out popped Tony, a tortoise so wise, With a gentle shell and kind eyes. “Hello, Anibal, don’t you fear, I’m your friend, always near.” (Chorus) It’s okay to be scared, it’s okay to be shy, But give it a go, just give it a try! With a slow, steady step and a hand to hold, Even a quiet heart can be bold. Yes, Anibal the Agouti is learning to see, How brave a little agouti can be! Tony showed him how to be brave, With each inch he moved, so much courage he gave. “Take your time, don’t rush ahead, There’s nothing here for you to dread.” Then Maggie Macaw, with feathers so bright, Flew down to join this wonderful sight. “Anibal, my friend, look up high, See how beautiful is the sky.” (Chorus) It’s okay to be scared, it’s okay to be shy, But give it a go, just give it a try! With a slow, steady step and a hand to hold, Even a quiet heart can be bold. Yes, Anibal the Agouti is learning to see, How brave a little agouti can be! With Tony’s wisdom and Maggie’s cheer, Anibal felt his worries clear. He saw the jungle, not so scary, But full of friends, kind and merry. They played and laughed, the whole day through, Anibal’s fears were now so few. He learned the world’s not so dark and grim, It’s bright and full of joy for him. With Alex, Angie, Tony, and Maggie, Life in the jungle was no longer draggy. Anibal the Agouti, brave and strong, Found his place where he belonged. So if you are ever anxious or scared, Remember Anibal, and how he dared. With friends and family by your side, You’ll find there’s nothing you need to hide.
