Mama's Worries and Wild Tales

Well, mama's sittin' at the kitchen table,

With her tales of woe, she's really able,

To spin a yarn, oh can't you see,

Her heart's in the right place, just worryin' for me.

Every time the phone rings, she jumps in her seat,

Thinkin' somethin's wrong, it's just a friend on the street,

She says, "Honey, do you know of that car crash last night?

Could've been you, my heart can't take that fright!"

"Did you hear 'bout the snake that lived in the drain?"

She tells me tales 'bout a man who slipped

And would you believe, from a banana peel he tripped?

And I say “really mama?!”
