Out of my Dark

I’ve been running through the dark alone

Empty halls inside my broken home

Every mirror showed a stranger’s face

Every heartbeat felt so out of place

Another night staring at the ceiling

Trying to fight these demons I was feeling

Every breath felt heavier than before

Like I was drowning somewhere offshore

People talking but I hear no sound

Smiling faces while I’m falling down

Tried to scream but the words won’t leave

Started losing everything in me

And I kept sinking deeper underground

No light, no hope, no way out found

Then you appeared inside the rain

And somehow silence broke the pain

You pulled me out when I was losing myself

When I was drowning inside my hell

You were the fire inside the cold

The only hand I could still hold

You taught my shattered heart to beat

Turned my weakness into strength in me

And now the shadows fade away

Because you gave me a reason to stay

I used to walk with ghosts behind me

Every memory trying to blind me

But your voice cut through the noise

Like the world finally gave me a choice

You saw scars beneath my skin

Still believed there was life within

Held me close through every war

Till I didn’t hate myself anymore

I was fading into black and grey

One step from throwing it all away

But you became the missing part

That slowly stitched together my heart
