Today I saw in the paper

A recent picture of you

It said you were getting married

You were about to say I do

And that opened the floodgates

Of a time back in the past

When you and I were together

And we thought our love would last

That was back when we were young

And it’s a lifetime away

I still remember everything

Just like it was yesterday

Those bittersweet memories

Came rushing back today
