I’m standing here in my backyard

With a pile of pictures and birthday cards

I look at each one and reed every line

It’s just like I’m travelin’ back in time

Here’s a shot of our trip to Denver

At that cabin in the dead of winter

Here’s you fishin’ at Rainbow Lake

And laying on the couch barely awake

Here’s your birthday making a wish

Didn’t know there was so much I’d miss

Man you were pretty, such a catch

As I stare at you I strike a match

I light them up and burn them down

Flames go up, embers swirl around

Just like the world of you and me

Nothing is left but the memories
