Mama always said, don't turn out like me

And sure enough here I am, the last of our line, in the very place I didn't plan to be, take any path you want to, live your life as you please, just don't do what they tell you to, or you'll end up like me, look at this place, look at this life, tell me you want better for yourself, when I see you again, darling I'll have your head, if you end up like me, it's your life to live, please live it as you choose, just take advice, this life hasn't been so nice to me, i wouldn't choose this as a place to be, mama always said don't turn out like me, she's left me here now feeling my way around in the dark, traumas more than left it's mark, and I've more than lost my spark, but I can hear her words in my head always whispering, and I know my mama meant well, though she's not here to tell, I know she's watching over me too, I pray to mama I see her soon, because I don't know what to do now, feeling around in the dark but what's the use
