Felt the pain and the hurt, the tears and the fights

Growing up was tough, my life was a test

Had to fight for survival, had to do my best

I've seen the worst of times, the lowest of lows

Had to rise up from the ashes, like a phoenix that glows

I was walking through a night that never ended

Shadows whispering every doubt I ever knew

Every step felt like I was descending

I wore pain like armor on my chest

Built my walls so high no light got in

Every scar was proof I tried my best

Then a spark lit up the black
