Through the flames
It’s just a single wide trailer, on a little piece of land.
Everything there, he’s built with his own two hands.
Takes off to the rig, two weeks at a time
Giving all that he can, never asking for a dime.
But the story that is going to be told,
Are the kind that will never get old.
Blood dont make us related but you're my brother, through and through.
This is what I’ve learned sittin around the fire with you.
I’d like to say thank you for being there to answer the call,
Lending me a hand when I seem to trip and fall.
You’ll just grab another log and beer to take a sip
And you’ll prolly say, Hey ol son, listen to this shit.
-As the night goes on and the smoke fills the air. We will sit around the fire with stories to share. We’ll drink, laugh and smile the same. Yeah just letting it out, through the flames. With the music playing some good ol country and rock and roll We will sit back, relax and cast no shame. As we let it all out through the flames.
I remember I was in a dark place, demons running wild in my head.
Holding a gun in my face, ready to fill it full of led.
You said come on by, I gotta fire going and we can chat.
Took some time, but now I am looking back
And have to say thank you for not giving up on me.
I have another brother and he goes by country.
In the flames are the names of people left behind,
Some took longer to leave our minds.
Some will stand the test of time to those we’ll toast a banner,
The good ones won't be forgotten……Ken……Hippie……and Tanner.
-As the night rolls on, with the ashes flying up into the sky. Some stories may bring a tear to our eye, but we’ll sit and listen to the stories being told. Those are the ones that are good as gold. We’ll smile, drink and laugh all the same. Just playing catch up through the flames. With the music playing some good ol country and rock and roll We will sit back, relax and cast no shame. As we let it all out through the flames.
Like I said blood doesnt make us related, but your my brother through and through.
These are just some of the things that I learned sitting around the fire with you.
Listening to how the rig is going now and crazy people on the crew.
Thinking back and how that used to be me and you.
Chris Ledoux, Lynard, or some new country rap that carries the right sound.
Folks just would not understand the compassion when we are around.
-Through the flames, we will continue to come together to share what it is that is on our minds. Get a cold beer and pour me some ol jack d, and we will can talk and our stories. We aint shutting down the bar, going out to the club, thatd be a shame.
We do better sitting around the fire and letting it go through the flames.
Love ya brother
