Why's it so hard to be on the same side?

Feels like we're fighting, but what do we win?

Walking through shadows, misunderstood parts

Everyone's a threat, breaking hearts

It's a game of battles, no real peace in sight

Why do we turn against what feels right?

I just wanna stand tall, be part of something real

But all I get is pushback, what’s the deal?

Trust is falling apart, piece by piece

Can’t find my place, lost in this peace

It’s not rocket science, it’s simple and plain

Helping each other, easing the pain

Why throw me down when I’m already down?

We could lift each other, turn it around

Instead of tearing, let’s try to rebuild

One act of kindness, a shot to heal

Could be the change, start something new

Find a reason to trust, to follow through

So I ask again, what’s the true gain?

When we push each other into pain?

Trust is broke, but hope remains

Could a flood renew the earth, restore what’s true?

Wash away the darkness, make us new?

In your mercy, I beseech, let your will be done,

Save us from ourselves before we're gone.

God, please wash this world away,

Sweep the violence, bring your grace.

Pour out your redemption, make us whole,

Cleanse the dirt that stains our soul.

I grow tired of the greed, the hate, the lies,

Only in You my hope survives.

Let your water drown the pain,

Bring new life from the rain.

In your love, I find my peace,

A hope that never shall cease.
