Every mornin’ for a whole year
Woke up fightin’ doubt and fear
Coffee cold, Bible open wide
Beggin’ God, “Stay by my side”
Three hundred sixty-five broken pleas
Down on both hands and both knees
Didn’t trust myself to stand
So I put my life in His hands
One day sober, then one more
Knockin’ on mercy’s door
I prayed every day just to make it through
Didn’t have the strength — so I leaned on You
For my family, for their faith in me
For the way I was called to be
Now eight years later I can say
It wasn’t willpower that paved the way
It was God’s grace that set me free
That’s my testimony
Temptation whispered, “Just one more round”
But I’d hear a louder, sweeter sound
Sayin’, “Child, remember who you are
You’ve come too far, you’ve come too far”
Little hands and trustin’ eyes
Were worth more than any disguise
So I kept kneelin’, kept believin’
Even when my hands were shakin’
One prayer at a time, one step of faith
That’s how freedom’s made
I prayed every day just to make it through
Didn’t have the strength — so I leaned on You
For my family, for their faith in me
For the home I didn’t wanna lose
Now eight years later I can see
You were carryin’ all of me
It was God’s grace that made it happen
And rewrote my story
It wasn’t pride, it wasn’t me
It was mercy over misery
Every sunrise, every tear
You were faithful all those years
I prayed every day for a solid year
Now eight years strong and still right here
For my family, I stand redeemed
More than I ever dreamed
And if you ask how I survived
How I made it out alive
It was God — and God alone
Who brought me home
Three hundred sixty-five prayers that year…
Eight years later — still standin’ here.
