Savior

I walked alone through the city streets at night

Chasing dreams under flickering neon lights

I didn’t see the war behind the veil

Angels wept as shadows set my trail

A whisper called my name, sweet and low

Promised me the world if I’d just let go

I fell into the fire, chains around my soul

The devil’s smile took all control

But mercy broke the darkness, heaven heard my cry

God reached down and lifted me to life

In the pit with the weight of all my shame

Every echo spoke my guilty name

Then the light poured in like a rising sun

Jesus said, “My child, your race’s not done”

Chains rattled loud, the shadows tried to stay

But heaven’s love drove the dark away
