The new American dream

There's dust on our flag where the stars used to shine

The roads where we ran after our dreams are now in decline

No point in chasing a dream that's crumbling away

It seems the new American dream is to run away

This is not the land of the brave I recall

Where freedom stood tall and justice called

Hatred's the storm that's broken the trust

Has left us in the dust

Echoes of our forefathers voices

Cry out in dismay in the dark night

So many promises broken and there's no

end in sight

The walls we've built can't hold back the pain

When love's the cost and hatred's the gain
