Would you build a home on that beach though? On the sand?
You might. Some do!
Old stories call them fools
Sand washes away.
The wise man realized that if he wanted the things he built to last without having to put forth the cost and effort to constantly rebuild them, if he wanted long term stability, a safer place to maybe even fill with people he loved, he would need to build his house on that rock.
Imagine the wise man visiting the beach one day off in the future after years and years…. Taking his wife and children to the beach, waving at the guys with the little beach shacks who always seemed to be having such a good time. Fools, he thought them. Imagine the beach men. The ones who choose that way. I don’t really judge them. They might enjoy the life on the beach. Their ever changing homes from constant uptake and rebuild. Their life, beautiful and fun. They really do seem to enjoy it. But how many of them envy the family they see on the beach over there? How many of them might be wishing they’d poured their energy into something like that instead of their constant beauty and fun at the expense of so much time and upkeep from each time it washed away. How many of them do not even realize that might be the life they enjoyed more if they just tried?
Choose the rock.
You can visit the sand,
But always come home to the rock.
Stability allows you security & rest with the people you love.
Life doesn’t have to be so fuckin hard.
I AM the wise man.
I will wait on the wise man.
