Jezebel’s Crown
by Robert Ramage
Tempo / Feel:
Mid-tempo dark rock / southern blues
(Moody verses, powerful chorus, prophetic bridge)
Intro
(Spoken / low and ominous)
They don’t always wear a crown…
Sometimes they wear a smile.
History don’t repeat itself—
But it sure does rhyme.
Verse 1
She came in dressed in foreign gold
With promises and lies
Married power, fed the throne
Poisoned truth behind closed eyes
Altars built to false belief
While prophets hit the ground
When truth became the enemy
She taught them how to bow
Verse 2
Kings before her played the game
With borders, blood, and pride
Some built roads, some built graves
Some sold the truth they’d hide
Power loves a quiet crowd
That never asks the cost
When conscience bends to comfort
That’s when nations start getting lost
Chorus
Oh Jezebel still whispers
Through the halls of borrowed power
Trading truth for influence
Selling souls by the hour
From the past into tomorrow
Same temptation, different spell
Every age writes a chapter
Under Jezebel’s spell
Verse 3
Crowns changed into podiums
Swords into silver tongues
Laws written by the loudest voice
While justice comes undone
They call it progress, call it peace
But the roots stay the same
When pride replaces wisdom
History remembers the name
Verse 4
The future’s knocking hard tonight
With fire in its eyes
Truth don’t need permission
And it don’t beg to survive
Every lie has an ending
Every tower meets the ground
Dogs still wait in history
For queens that won’t step down
Chorus
Yeah Jezebel still whispers
In the ear of every throne
Tells you you’re untouchable
As long as you’re not alone
But power without conscience
Is a kingdom built in hell
Every age learns the lesson
Of Jezebel’s spell
Bridge
(Strip it down – almost gospel)
You can silence every warning
You can paint the sky your way
But truth don’t die in darkness
It just waits another day
The higher that you rise
The louder is the fall
No throne outlives the truth
No wall outlasts it all
Final Chorus
Jezebel still whispers
But the clock is running out
What was hidden in the shadows
Is gonna be shouted out
From the past into forever
Every lie will finally tell
Who you served when you chose power
Over truth—
That’s the spell
Outro
(Soft, reflective)
Crowns fall.
Names fade.
Truth stays.
Choose wisely.
