Prompt / Lyrics
The Dragon and the Cloud Long ago, on a tall mountain, lived one of the last of the wise dragons. Every day, the dragon would share her wisdom. From time to time, people would even stay on the mountain and train as an apprentice of the wise dragon. Currently, the old wise dragon had a younger dragon as an apprentice living near the clearing, and every day, the younger dragon would show up to be trained by the wise one. On this day, the old dragon looked at her student and said, "I have a test for you, are you ready?" The younger dragon looked up and said, "Yes, master, I am ready." The wise dragon looked up into the sky and said to her student, "Do you see that cloud, the one that has been sitting there?" The younger dragon looked up and saw the cloud the master was looking at and quietly replied, "Yes, I see it." "I want you to make that cloud go away," stated the wise dragon. "Do you think you can do that?" The young dragon thought for a few seconds and then said, "Yes, master, I think I can do that." "Good, I am going to go over by that large tree and take a nap. When I get back, we will see how you have done." The younger dragon thought of all the lessons the master had taught it over the last few months. It thought back to the lesson on visualization. So, the young dragon started visualizing flaming arrows flying at the cloud and making it heat up and then rain, but nothing happened. Next, the young dragon thought back to a lesson on how we are all connected to each other, even to the spirits of nature. So, the student started singing to the spirit of wind, asking it to blow the cloud away, but nothing happened. The dragon landed and tried many other things but could not make the cloud disappear "I'm sorry, Sage, but I have failed. I tried everything I could think of, I gave it all my energy, but I have failed, I tried everything I could think of, I gave it all my energy and effort, but I just could not move the cloud at all. The old dragon smiled and asked the younger one “Do you see that lake down there at the bottom of the mountain?” The younger dragon looked where the master was looking and answered her with “yes I see it sage” the wise dragon continued saying “do you think any dear drink form that lake? The younger dragon now a little confused stated “yes mam I have seen dear there early in the morning when the mist covers the ground. The older dragon seemed to ignore the puzzled look on her students face and continued asking him. “Do you think there are any fish in the lake this time of year?” the student now completely lost looked to his master and asked, “You hungry master, do you want me to go get you some fish?” At this the master laughed “no, no young one I’m not hungry, I want you to look up. The student looked up to see a clear sky without a single cloud. As the master began to speak again, “If you want something to go away, or if you want to stop a bad habit, do not give it any power, simply ignore it and let it go.
