Verse 1: The Spoken Beginning
This is my Father’s world,
By His own breath designed;
He spoke the light into the night,
And life and physical laws combined.
This is my Father’s world,
The Word made all we see;
The stars above declare His love,
And sovereign majesty.
Verse 2: The Fallen Garden
This is my Father’s world,
Though shadowed now by sin;
The garden loss, a bitter cost,
When death came creeping in.
This is my Father’s world,
He heard His children’s cry;
He promised grace to seek our race,
And laid His glory by.
Verse 3: The Cross and Victory
This is my Father’s world,
Where Christ, the Son, was slain;
The blood on the wooden tree of Calvary,
Has washed away the stain.
This is my Father’s world,
The stone was rolled away;
The morning bright put death to flight,
On that triumphant day.
Verse 4: The Kingdom Come
This is my Father’s world,
O let me ne’er forget;
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world,
The battle is His own;
The King shall reign and come again,
To claim His eternal throne.
