If I could go back into time ,I’d stay to protect you from the pain ,if I could shield you from the hurt and take you away I would .But I had to go and run away .I’m sorry I couldn’t stay .I was just a kid protecting myself ,with nobody to protect me from the pain .I took the beatings and the bruises so y’all wouldn’t have to face that fate .I tried to hide y’all and tried to shield y’all away .But that wasn’t my job though I took it on because there was no Superman to save the day.Ya see she was our mother and he was our father and they was supposed to protect us .Though they were children themselves raising babies with nobody help .Mama never knew love daddy only knew pain so they created a home of fire and pain .She was only 16 when she had her first baby working multiple jobs just to make a way while tryna hide her pain .Neglected by her mother abandoned by her father ,raped and molested all she ever knew was hurt and pain .She tried her best to protect us and never make us feel the pain ,even though her words were like poison she tried her best to show love to us in her own way .Daddy was always a way tryna play a pimps game ,rapping in the studio and working for the country tryna get that pay .He didn’t have a father just multiple men in and out his face teaching him the game poisoning his mind tryna make him be a man but all he knew was pain .He said the beatings was out of love ,so outta love I hid yall away .I promised to love yall and always be there and I’ll keep that promise till the end of the day .It broke my heart to leave yall but I couldn’t take the pain .The bruises ,the beatings ,the blood stains on my face .I took a knife for y’all ,the switch and the blade .Been tryna leave since I was 15 but I couldn’t stand the pain on yalls face .I loved yall to much but I had no choice once I turned 18 it was him or me and I had set myself free from the chains.
