Head above water

Yeah…

Single father… still standing.

Some nights survival feels like worship.

God… You hear me?

Alarm clock ringing but I swear I never slept

Fighting with my thoughts while my babies dream in bed

Smile on my face, but my soul hanging by thread

Tryna be a hero while I’m drowning in my head

Got bills on the counter and pain in the past

Trauma in the rearview but I’m driving too fast

I’m asking God why all the good things never last

How I’m supposed to lead when I’m breaking like glass?

I carry the weight they ain’t old enough to know

Take every hit just to help my children grow

Heart wants love, but I’m scared to let it show

Been abandoned before, so trusting moves slow

But I still pray…

Even when my faith got cracks

Still fight…

Even when life fights back

Lord keep my head above water

I’m sinking farther

Trying to be a father

Through the fire and the dark

Protect these hearts You gave me

This world can’t break me

Even when life shakes me

I’m held in Your arms

People see a man, they don’t see the sacrifice

Missing out on sleep just to make sure they have life

Playing both roles, mother and a father twice

Trying to raise angels in a world cold as ice

And yeah I want love

Somebody who sees the scars

Someone who don’t run

When they find out where they are

But if all I got is God

Then I know that’s enough

Cause He carried me through valleys

When the road got rough

I taught my kids faith

By surviving every storm

Sometimes being strong

Looks like crying to the Lord

Lord keep my head above water…

I’m sinking farther…

Trying to be a father…

Through the fire and the dark…

If I fall… pick me up

If I break… fill my cup

If I doubt… speak Your truth

Let my life still point to You

To every dad fighting silent battles…

God sees you.
