Title: “The Oath I Bear”
Epic medieval / knightly anthem with powerful orchestral build, deep drums, choir, and emotional crescendos
Verse 1
Before the dawn has touched the sky,
I hear the call I can’t deny.
No trumpet sounds, no banners fly,
Just a battlefield inside.
The enemy wears my own face,
Knows every weakness, every place.
He whispers, “Rest… another day…”
And bids my courage fade away.
But somewhere through the dark I hear
A voice more quiet, yet more clear:
Pre-Chorus
“Rise, my son, though you are worn.
The strongest steel is battle-born.”
Chorus
So I will carry the oath I bear!
Though my hands may shake, though my soul lays bare!
For a knight is not the man who never falls—
He is the one who answers when duty calls!
And when I stand where I once would flee,
When I become the man I’m meant to be,
The bells of Heaven seem to ring—
For victory over self is the greatest victory!

Verse 2
There are days I walk in shining light,
Keeping every vow I swore that night.
And joy burns bright within my chest,
The peace of knowing I gave my best.
I feel the weight of chains released,
The restless war at last decreased.
The road is hard, the climb is steep,
Yet promises fulfilled run deep.
For every prayer and every scar,
Reminds me who my fathers are.
Pre-Chorus
Their blood cries out through years untold:
“Stand your ground. Hold fast. Be bold.”
⸻
Bridge (music softens, lone cello and choir)
But there are nights…
When I break the words I gave.
When fear returns and courage caves.
When I kneel beside the wreckage made
Of promises I could not save.
And shame becomes a heavy crown,
Pulling my weary spirit down.
I ask the darkness, “Who am I
To wear this armor and still fail?”
Then mercy answers through the pain:
“A knight is forged in rising again.”
⸻
Final Chorus (massive orchestra and choir)
So I will carry the oath I bear!
Though the road is long and the burden unfair!
For a knight is not the man who never bleeds—
He is the one who fights despite his needs!
And if I fall a thousand times,
I’ll rise a thousand and one beside
The Cross that calls me to become
More than the man I was!
For someday when my war is done,
And I stand before the Holy One,
I pray these words are all He sees:
“He stumbled often.
He doubted greatly.
But he rose again.
And he remained faithful.”
⸻
Outro (choir, slow and powerful)
Stand firm…
Remain faithful…
When the flesh cries out,
Remain faithful…
When the night grows cold,
Remain faithful…
For the greatest battle ever fought
Is the battle for your soul.
And the greatest victory ever won
Is keeping the oath
You made to God…
And to yourself.
