Collectors of Shadows

Whispered winds, a silent call

Darkness rising, shadows fall

Back from the void, I stand tall

The hunter's song, hear the thrall

Once lost, broken, out of the light

Struggled in the endless night

Now I rise with hunger’s might

Filling voids, escaping fright

Eyes that draw, commands undeclared

Mouth that wins, souls ensnared

Quiet body, gently prepared

Hands that soothe, yet so unaware

Back to collecting souls again

Through the dark, beyond the pain

No man is safe, I reign

In the shadows, I remain

I take your breath, your whispered fears

Your scent lingers, echoes in your ears

Your mind’s maze, trapped in tears

Nightmare and dream, shifting gears

Hold you close, feel the cold

Sacred stories left untold

As you slip into my fold

Seeking warmth, feeling cold

Back to collecting souls again

Through the dark, beyond the pain

Lift just enough to see the fall

Then vanish into shadows’ call

My job my curse, my thrall

I see your fear, I see it all
