If it would've been possible to stop your health from ever having gotten old

I would've searched high and low for the equations

To stop you from aging, eliminating time's stamp

The clock ticking loudly, my thoughts talking ever so quietly

And death has you waiting, knocking on our door

But no such coding exists

If we could all just live on forever in the way of love

My friend, you'd still be here and I am paying a toll

You were never just an animal by my side

You were a piece of my life

That I didn't know I needed until you were gone

You showed me what loyalty really looks like

How to give without expecting anything back

How to be there fully

In a way words can't describe

I think about all the moments you were there without question...

Each memory holding the weight of our shared time

Every moment preserved in the amber of love

If love alone could have kept you here

You'd still be next to me

But even though you're gone...

Your spirit lingers in every corner of my world

You're with me in ways I can't even begin to explain

And that's something time will never take away from me

Tega, a part of me is running free within you

I can feel you looking through the space and time

Letting me know you are there

And I feel the pressure pushing down

The blanket sinks in leaving paw prints all around

Teaching me still, it's profound because you have passed on

Yet you show up for me

Allowing me the wisdom to find solace in my grieving

And peace through this pain

I understand the process and of that I will not rush

I wouldn't want to miss out on all these wonderful gifts

That you are giving me, filling the void though killing me softly

I greatly accept, the road I'm on step after step

My show will go on, journey unknown

This has been God's divine plan, of that I understand
