I was tested, trialled and tortured,
I was twisted, torn and tired,
Motivation it eluded me,
I was Too broke to feel inspired.
A stupid game I played one night
It dealt the hand of death,
I drifted down into the dark
To meet my final breath.
Suffering was my solemn heart,
lost to a star filled sky,
Weakened, wrought and worthless,
Wading in woes waist-high.
My pained heart Poured into the ground
My pulse , lost all its pace
Peace I sought so dear to find
Found that peaceful space
My body seeds in to the soil
My soul drifts to the sky
What stays, is only with who stand
At the stone where my bones lie
A grave trodden down to hardened soil
By the friends who come to cry
A headstone etched with just a name
But not a reason why
I'm now, beyond a burdened soul
My breath became the breeze
you can hear me on a sunny day
As whispers through the trees
